In addition to devices for day-to-day office printing needs, many
organisations have a requirement for more specialist solutions. The
Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, better known as The Red Arrows,
is a good example. It recently installed a 17-inch Epson Stylus Pro
3880 digital inkjet printer for the production of high quality A3 and
A4 lustre, matte and gloss photographs for distribution at media
and corporate events. The printer’s small footprint allows it to be
taken on tour with the Red Arrows for on-the-spot printing of images
captured by RAF photographers. The Red Arrows’ nine display pilots
and 100 support staff and engineers are based at RAF Scampton in
Lincolnshire and, during the winter, train at RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus. The
Epson Stylus Pro 3880 was supplied by Color Confidence based in
Birmingham.

at least enhance the club’s

Fulham Football Club, Brother

communications products
to Craven Cottage and the

Asset DB enhanced
with tri-colour
capability
Newfield IT has enhanced its
Asset DB MPS toolset with
a tri-colour meter capability
that enables consultants and
resellers to calculate printing
costs for devices that vary
the click charge according to
the amount of colour used,
such as Kyocera MFPs and
Xerox ColorQube devices.
The tri-colour capability in
Asset DB v4.2 is supported at
every level of a consultancy
process, from data collection to
presentation. At Auditor level,
data collectors can capture
all available tri-colour meter
readings; at Analyst level, users
can split single level colour
volume into tri-colour meter
levels and create tri-colour
level cost per page contracts;
and at Architect level, solution
architects can transfer volume
between all colour levels to
ensure the most efficient
solution is achieved.
NewField IT MD James
Duckenfield said: “4.2 isn’t
just another point release for
Asset DB; we’ve incorporated
the ability to collect tri-colour
meters and perform TCO on
these devices in a simple way
despite the inherent complexity.
We have also opened up the
system with a great new UI for
creating and customising icons
and for users to define their
own field validation.”
