No more paper
Field service organisations can reduce their reliance on paper-based
processes with Go-Cam. Described as the world’s first one-touch
field reporting app, it enables users to stream live field reports
from a smartphone or tablet and send email and text alerts to
nominated recipients with a link to a Report Page. This includes live
video and supporting information, such as sender details, location
map and time and date stamp. Possible applications include walk-
through tours of properties for sale; site updates in the construction
industry; insurance claims assessments; and location reports by
journalists. Go-Cam is free for the first month and costs £3.99 per
user per month thereafter.
The Canon i-SENSYS MF410 and i-SENSYS MF510
A4 MFPs are designed to help growing businesses
achieve their potential. They combine B&W printing,
copying and colour scanning, a compact footprint and
fast print speeds of 33 and 40 pages per minute
respectively. The duplex automatic document feeder
ensures productive copying/scanning to USB, shared
folders, FTP or email. Free PC and mobile apps
enable scanning directly to popular cloud applications
and mobile devices. With a remote management
capability and compatibility with Canon’s uniFLOW
print/scan management solution, the devices can
also be deployed as part of a managed print service.
Two-sided scanning
on the go
Xerox’s new USB-powered Duplex
Travel Scanner is the company’s
first portable scanner capable of
scanning two-sided documents
in a single pass. Compatible with
Windows and Mac OS computers,
it continuously feeds pages up to
216 x 813mm enabling users to
create multi-page files made up of
one and two-sided documents. The
500g device comes with a range of
software packages that let users
share searchable PDF documents,
render image files in a variety of
formats and enhance the scans of
tattered originals.

ID card wins award
Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade has
won a design award for Europe’s first passport card.
Designed and developed by DLRS Group and consortium
partners HID Global, Absolute Graphics and Purple
Pod, the card can be used by Irish passport holders
instead of a traditional passport when travelling in
Europe. In use since October 2015, the credit card-
sized card incorporates state-of-the-art security
technologies including both optical security media and
an ICAO-compliant chip. Citizens can apply for a card
online or through a smartphone app. Reconnaissance
International awarded it the Regional Best ID Document
of the Year Award 2016 at this year’s High Security
Printing Conference in Bucharest, Romania.
