01732 759725 50 AND FINALLY Clive Hamilton, Managing Director, Pinnacle Document Solutions Group 60 seconds with… What’s currently having the greatest impact on your business? Our business is going through a period of growth so keeping us all heading in the same direction whilst integrating cultures, products and departments, requires clear and consistent communication. It is a great problem to have though! Where do you see the next big opportunity? As we are in the business of documents, GDPR is extremely important to us and our clients. Through our workflow capabilities we can certainly help our customers with their data compliance. Another key area for us is looking at new ways of supplying customers with what they want, when they want it but with a level of flexibility and support; watch this space! What would make your day job easier? More hours in the day. What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given? Jack Welch (from his book) once said: “Find any excuse to have a party!” Celebrating success, energising and developing my people is at the core of my management philosophy. If you had had a crystal ball, would you have done anything differently? I would have asked for more working capital when doing the MBO initially; to grow you need cash, lots of it! Cash is King in business!! Without it everything is slowed down as you have to manage it! Describe your most embarrassing moment. I took a new business client to the Xerox Production Showroom and wanting to be as hands on as possible got involved with the demo. All went well until the last few seconds of the presentation when the client, his Print Room Manager and Office Manager (wife of the Print Room Manager) needed the remaining media they had brought with them put back in the car. I jumped to pick the box up and split my trousers completely right in front of the clients…And then had to drive back to Wales!! What was your first job? In the military. What would be your dream job? Corporate travel agent/events organiser. Fine dining and good wine, or curry and a pint? There’s room for both options, I enjoy fine dining with a good Rioja but also enjoy a good curry and a cold pint just as much! Money’s not an issue, what’s your perfect car… and where would you like to drive it? Bentley Continental roof down, coast road, from San Diego to Seattle. Favourite holiday destination. Majorca or New York; very different holidays. How do you like to spend your spare time? In the gym, up a mountain, rowing or on a bike. As well as socialising! I am passionate about supporting our chosen charities. Last summer Team Pinnacle completed a ‘Ride to the Somme’ in Northern France and Belgium supporting SSAFA, The Armed Forces Charity. We are also very proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, pledging our support to those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families.
