COVER STORY PRINT IT RESELLER.UK 21 In a future technology area, Sharp showed an 8K display and professional camcorder, integrating capabilities for video shooting and recording, playback and line output. These devices will form the basis for Sharp’s R&D work on an 8K ecosystem. (MX-M3070, MX-M3570, MX-M4070, MX-M5070 and MX-M6070) include additional functions such as Office Direct Print and cloud connectivity. Both series offer a wide range of finishing options. Refreshed light production printers The new MX-7090N and MX-8090N robust, versatile light production systems deliver professional colour printing, outstanding productivity and exceptional print quality. Featuring the same easy-to-use touchscreen interface as Sharp’s A3 and A4 office products, the two new entry-level light production devices print and copy at up to 80 pages per minute. Capable of printing on coated, uncoated and embossed media up to 300gsm, both models offer a wide range of input and finishing options, ensuring users have the flexibility to produce brilliant quality materials tailored to the requirements of individual print jobs. These two new systems print on A3 edge to edge, enabling operators to produce high quality full bleed booklets in-line. Furthermore, EFI worked closely with Sharp to develop EFI Fiery Dynamic HD Text and Graphics which makes small text more readable. These exclusive features reproduce accurate ultra-thin lines, small text and fine details in the printed output. It also has a unique functionality that evens out the colour of characters’ lead and trail edge by compensating for the typically darker appearance of one edge and the lighter appearance of the other edge. To save time and reduce wastage, print room managers also have greater control over print jobs with full access to the embedded Fiery Command WorkStation right from the operation panel of the MFP, eliminating the need for additional workstations and saving space. Within the exhibition area, Sharp showed a series of meeting spaces, equipped with Sharp BIG PAD interactive whiteboards to help people share ideas and work together more creatively and efficiently. Highlights included: 4K BIG PAD: Sharp’s newest BIG PAD, its first ever 4K touch panel completes its range of displays for sharing information in meetings, from entry-level displays to advanced touch solutions. Sharp Portal Meeting: This cloud based, video conferencing solution removes the need for expensive in-house IT infrastructure and support. It enables the meeting organiser to invite up to 50 participants to collaborate effectively using the device that is most convenient to them at the time. User friendly and easy to use, it has a consistent and intuitive user interface. Participants can join from any location, easily share content, view presentations, application windows, web pages and even annotations made using Sharp pen software. Data is fully encrypted, meetings can be kept private by adding secure conference PIN codes and the ‘Lock my room’ feature allows the organiser to close a meeting room once all guests have joined to ensure confidentiality. Sharp Plug and Meet: Sharp’s Plug and Meet has been designed to be a compact and neat solution for any collaborative huddle and meeting space, and is the perfect companion to Sharp’s Portal Meeting video conferencing software. This mobile, self-contained, video conferencing solution features a modern design and instant on functionality, and comes equipped with a 40” BIG PAD interactive capacitive touch display, Windows 10 solid state PC and wireless hub, and embedded web camera and speakers. Sharp Signage: A cost-effective, turnkey solution which enables users to display engaging and relevant information on sleek, modern professional signage displays. Digital signage software with sophisticated features and intuitive user operation such as pre- designed templates and the ability to share content across a wide range of different screens. Users can securely update content from any location and upload existing files remotely via an intuitive web interface. Collaboration Station: Typically designed with two to six users in mind, the Collaboration Station comes equipped with audio and visual systems to allow users to seamlessly create, manage, visualise and share information. This modular solution is a new way to improve teamwork and productivity in the work space. It provides a convenient meeting room alternative for large offices, public areas, universities, colleges and organisations that want to utilise their existing working space more efficiently. The station is customisable with a range of upholstery and seat alignment options to choose from. Sharp BIG PAD Interactive Table: The new Early Years Edition provides a wealth of collaborative learning opportunities using the very latest PCAP touch technology, offering 10 point touch and the ability to write, draw and annotate directly onto the screen using with either a finger or the included 2mm tip touch pen. A fully built-in Android PC removes the requirement to connect an external device for uploading and displaying content. The self-contained and future proofed Interactive Table offers full HD resolution for the highest visual clarity. It can be easily tilted and locked into position, allowing pre-schoolers to interact together around the table. Alternatively, it can be tilted further to 75 degrees before being locked into place to enable children to use it more comfortably whilst sitting or if they are playing on their own.
