www.binfo.co.uk 17 Editor’s Choice Awards OKI : A4 Colour Print ISSUE 130 OKI's smart MFP and printer range brings together OKI hardware and software to help improve productivity for businesses of all sizes, in a variety of industries. Document capture, distribution, management and output are all more efficient, thanks to an array of intelligent features and integrations. Helping to streamline document- intensive business processes, all devices in the range include OKI's embedded open architecture sXP (smart Extendable Platform) for enhanced integration with software applications and third party solutions. Digital workflow OKI smart MFPs help businesses convert paper-based processes into paperless workflows, thanks to advanced scanning and document distribution features including the ability to scan directly to a specified location, such as the cloud, email, USB, network folder, FTP or desktop. All devices integrate with Microsoft Sharepoint, Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive. Some models in the range work with other solutions for the management and storage of documents, such as DocuWare, which lets users archive and index documents as they scan. Embedded ABBYY FineReader Sprint optical character recognition (OCR) software enables users to create editable, searchable files from paper documents, PDF files or digital photos, saving the time and inconvenience of retyping. OKI’s own SENDYS Explorer is also included. This server-based solution lets users capture documents from various sources and convert, distribute or upload them to a chosen location. The smart MFPs and printers can also run applications like PaperCut, Drivve Image, Ringdale FollowMe and YSOFT SafeQ. Other solutions can be integrated through a software developer kit (SDK). To support mobility and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives, devices are compatible with AirPrint by Apple and the OKI Mobile Print app. They are also Google Cloud Print 2.0-ready. Secure access In addition to integration with enterprise applications, the printers boast a number of embedded security features, such as Private Print, User Authentication and optional Card Release. User Authentication, via password or card, helps work stay confidential. Devices can also be connected to a pull-printing fleet, where print jobs are only released after user authentication. Access control can be applied to specific functions, restricting who is authorised to do what, while Job Accounting provides full visibility of print and copy usage, enabling administrators to track the output of individual users or whole departments. For easy operation, OKI smart MFPs have 7- or 9-inch colour LCD touch screens and customisable home screens, giving quick and easy access to each user’s most frequently used functions. A Job Macro function allows users to save key sequences to speed up processes. With a number of compact models in the range, such as the C542dn and MC573dn, small businesses and small branch offices can now take advantage of powerful features originally developed for enterprises devices. Combined with the flexibility of OKI's open platform sXP, OKI smart devices have the potential to transform processes in businesses of all types and sizes, from home offices to large enterprises. www.oki.com/uk Streamlined workflow Smart MFPs and printer Editor’s Choice: Business info All devices integrate with Microsoft Sharepoint, Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive.
