Editor’s Choice Awards
Unveiled at the end of June, Riso’s
new generation of ComColor inkjet
printers/copiers – the ComColor
X1 series are its fastest and most
productive yet.
The new ComColor X1 Series includes
three models: the A3 7150 and A3 9150
with print speeds of 120 and 150 pages
per minute (ppm) respectively, and the
A4 3110, which can print at 90 ppm. The
range is powered by a newly developed
ink that delivers greater colour density,
reduced show-through and fade back on
certain paper stocks.
The ComColor X1 Series promises
greater productivity – new features include
a faster scanner (50 A4 ppm), reduced first
copy out and dwell time between jobs, an
industry leading ultra-low cost per A4 full
colour copy, a low total cost of ownership
as well as a number of eco-features,
including a power saving sleep mode of
5W or less and a power on/off schedule.
New functions include the ability to
print from USB, barcode area definition
software, enhanced print drivers, improved
paper handling capacity including card
and envelope printing, quieter operation,
as well as the ability to embed Papercut
software into the control panel.
Accessorise
Riso has also expanded its range of
accessories; new introductions include
a scanner that’s 20% faster than its
predecessor and a multifunctional finisher
with a delivery speed of 120 ppm.
Also new are a face down offset
stapler, 4,000 sheet capacity feeder and
high capacity stacker, all of which deliver
at the host printer speed. Riso has also
introduced a new IPDS controller enabling
organisations to print in native IPDS, thus
negating the requirement to convert data
prior to print.
This new powerful production
configuration that also includes a perfect
binder, capable of producing 60 books per
hour and a wrapping envelope finisher
– an automatic in-line mailing system; is
designed to support the firm’s desire to
expand its reach into new markets.
Growth on the agenda
As a company Riso wants to grow quickly
and gain new customers worldwide. It
intends to increase unit sales by 34% this
fiscal year, a goal that will be achieved
across both its direct sales operation and
through the channel.
The company has increased headcount
in all divisions and has said that it is
committed to working in partnership to
drive new business.
The launch of the ComColor X1 Series
will broaden the appeal of its devices
beyond the education sector and help it
meet its target to increase unit sales this
fiscal year.
It expects the X1’s combination of
high print speeds and low running costs
to prove popular in the pharmaceutical,
training, manufacturing, logistics and
financial services sectors – anywhere,
in fact, where there is a requirement for
affordable in-house colour printing.
