, we
give Editor’s Choice awards to three or four
new office products that we consider worth
highlighting.
They may not always be the best products in the
world and some have sunk with trace after receiving
an award, though happily not quite enough of them to
raise fears of an Editor’s Curse; often they are so new
that we've not yet had a chance to test them; and
sometimes they are a work in progress or a completely
new technology that shows promise but won’t realise
its full potential for years to come. In other words they

readers aren’t just interested
in developments that directly impact their business:
they also have an appreciation of innovation per se
and this, too, is reflected in our awards, which we
often give to products developed for the consumer
market or enterprise space. Even more so now that
the barriers between devices used for personal and
business use are breaking down.
In this special supplement, you will find a selection
of Editor’s Choice Award winners from 2011. They
cover a broad spectrum of technologies and product
areas but all bring something different, better or new
to the table. Keep reading
