shock
Already a famous name in the audio
industry, Sennheiser is becoming
better known amongst office
workers thanks to Sennheiser
Communications’ growing range of
headsets.
A joint venture between the electro-
acoustics specialist Sennheiser Electronic
and the hearing healthcare specialist
William Demant Holding Group, Sennheiser
Communications manufactures wired
and wireless headsets for mobile
phones, call centres, offices and Unified
Communications, as well as computer
headsets for VoIP, entertainment and
gaming.
The latest addition to its expanding
range of office headsets is likely to further
increase awareness of the Sennheiser
brand in the UK. Developed to meet
demand for call centre-tested durability
and excellent sound quality at an
affordable price, the CIRCLE line of wired
headsets includes single-sided (the SC
230) and dual-sided (the SC 260) models
optimised for use with Microsoft Lync.
The headsets manage to be both
comfortable and robust. A metal
reinforced headband provides years
of use in the busiest call centre;
while Sennheiser’s patent-pending
Circleflex dual-hinge ear cup system
adapts itself perfectly to the shape of
the wearer’s ears for all-day comfort.
Sound quality is assured
through Sennheiser HD Voice
Clarity wideband and the use of a
noise-cancelling microphone that
filters out ambient noise for optimum
clarity.
Another Sennheiser technology,
the patented ActiveGard system,
gives users complete confidence
that they are protected against
acoustic shock and sudden sound
surges that according to Steve
Bailey, Business Area Manager for
Sennheiser UK, are sometimes the
result of malicious calls.
“It’s an unfortunate fact that call centre
staff can suffer from malicious calls, which
are usually harmless. But there are also
aggressive calls made with the intention of
hurting and possibly permanently harming
a staff member’s hearing. Blowing whistles
or using more sophisticated electronic
devices to deliver an acoustic shock are
rare occurrences, but can be devastating
for the recipient,” he said.
ActiveGard technology embedded in
all Sennheiser telecoms headsets protects
a user’s hearing from such assaults
by detecting unsafe audio levels and
compressing the signal within milliseconds.
This doesn’t just reduce dangerous energy
from an acoustic burst, but
removes it completely,
eliminating any
distortion from
an excessive
incoming
signal and
keeping the
volume of
a sound peak at a safe and comfortable
level.
Commenting on the other benefits of
Sennheiser’s new headsets, Bailey said:
“CIRCLE line has been specifically designed
to provide an affordable headset option for
professionals who require all day comfort,
high quality sound and durability in busy
call centres and offices. With a combination
of productivity enhancing features and
call centre-tested durability, CIRCLE Line is
designed to help professionals perform at
their best, whatever the environment.”
