Five years after it became an
offcial partner of Breast Cancer
Campaign, Pentel has announced
that it has raised over £500,000
for the charity.
Pentel had an initial goal to raise
£25,000 over the course of a year.
After smashing this target within
a matter of months, it broadened
its range of products and before
long, had raised over £250,000.
Subsequent years have seen the
relationship go from strength to
strength, culminating in it smashing
the half-a-million pound amount this
October.
Competition winner
Last issue we ran a competition to
win a Brother PT2730VP labelling
machine, and the lucky winner is…
HelenWalker of Hemel Hempstead-
based Consort Medical Plc.
Congratulations Helen, from all the
P2P team.
The rapidly growing SoHo (small offce/home offce) sector is creating
market demand for offce furniture, computer equipment and telephony
systems scaled to smaller business enterprises operating from home.
Typical of the trend is the Lean Agency, which recently relocated from the
familiar advertising industry environs of London’s Soho, to custom-made
SoHo premises in suburban Buckinghamshire, and now occupying what
might be bluntly termed a shed
Having been designed and built by one of its talented art directors, Andy
White, Lean’s new head offce is no ordinary shed, but a ‘creative work space
that releases, inspires and invigorates’, doubling outside work hours as a chill-
out zone, entertainment area and summerhouse. What’s more, Lean’s offce
furniture, kitchen units and bar area (of course) are beautifully clad in Granite
Transformation’s recycled glass fnishing material, a product best known for
kitchen makeovers, but perfect too for the emerging SoHo marketplace.

did a
double take when faced with Silvine’s extensive new offce fashion line-
up and ExaClair’s new Rhodia Professional Offce Collection.
It’s good to see that despite the credit crunch, manufacturers are
continuing to invest in new products and in promoting them to the trade and
consumer market. There are two major shows planned for the frst part of next
year. Paperworld, the leading international trade and industry fair takes place
at the end of January in Frankfurt and the London-based Stationery Show
will run in April next year. We’re confdent that a wide choice of exciting new
solutions for everyday offce problems will be on show at both and we’ll report
back next year.
