the highlights
The UK’s only dedicated event for PAs, EAs and offce
managers, offce* returned for its second edition at Earls
Court, London, on 15-16 September. The show has grown
to accommodate over 175 exhibitors and organisers,
Diversifed Business Communications UK, said that over two
thirds of the companies exhibiting at offce* 2011 were new
to the event. Here, we present just some of the highlights.

Destination and Venue Village
featured
an exciting mix of AIM-accredited venues
from right across the UK. Participating
exhibitors, all appearing at the show for
the frst time; included Yorkshire’s Burn
Hall Hotel, Leicester Tigers Rugby Club
(Welford Road Stadium), Millennium
Hotels, East Midlands’ premier
conference centre and hotel, Brunel
Conferences and Visit Brighton, to name
a few.
Software giant
Microsoft
hosted
two full afternoons of informative demo
sessions at this year’s offce*. Taking
place in the new Demo Theatre between
1pm and 4.15pm on both days of the
show, these informative sessions gave
attendees an expert introduction to
some of Microsoft’s most popular offce
business software.
Luxury British fashion house
L.K.Bennett
held a unique catwalk
presentation of its latest Autumn/
Winter collection and new exhibitor
British Airways
, made the perfect frst
impression by sponsoring a free Keynote
from renowned personal stylist and Style
Icon founder, Natalie Robinson.
On show
Avery
(Stand 3036) showcased its latest
innovations and solutions and talked about its
renewed partnership with offce* show charity
Jeans for Genes
. Avery has raised £60,000
for the charity so far and now hopes to add
another £35,000.
The frm is giving £5 to Jeans for Genes
for every Trimmer or Guillotine sold until
31 March 2012 and 50p
for every DTR Eco desktop
accessory sold over the same
period.What’s more, workers
can also beneft from Avery’s
2011 ‘Big Carrot’ reward
promotion which enables
them to acquire shopping
vouchers of up to £12,
simply by purchasing

Kafevend Group Limited
demonstrated its
high quality drinks and vending machines
and visitors to Stand 4004 were invited to
sample some of the wide range of great drinks
available.

Another exhibitor with a story to tell was
Tyvek
, whose envelopes last month became
the frst mailing product to achieve Carbon
Trust Certifcation. The envelopes, made from
Dupont Tyvek material, renowned for its tear,
burst and water-resistant properties underwent
rigorous footprint assessment to carry the
Carbon Trust’s Carbon Reduction Label.
