The former was caused by global economic growth and the latter by increased mileage and a move from diesel to petrol engines. LeasePlan’s Sustainable Fleet Benchmark , based on analysis of the 500,000 vehicles in its database, also shows a slow move towards alternative powertrains, primarily battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.
