Recycled phone case
POPSICASE is the world’s first iPhone case made
from discarded fishing nets and scrap aluminium.
The nets are collected from 17 Mediterranean
ports, washed, chopped and melted before being
injected into a mould to create the case. The
protective case also features an integrated handle
which slides out when needed so you can hold
your phone more easily with one hand.
Enhanced
interoperability
Making it easier for dispersed teams
to collaborate, Lifesize has enhanced
its systems’ interoperability with
Skype for Business. The integration
means users can now make and
receive one-on-one or group calls to
and from Skype for Business and bring
a Skype for Business presence into
the conference room with the Lifesize
plug-and-play video conference room
system.

iPad protection
GEAR4 has brought military-grade D3O protection to
the iPad with the Buckingham iPad TPU flip case.
D3O, used in US military combat uniforms and
protective sport gear, has a unique molecular
structure that protects devices when dropped or
knocked. In standard conditions, molecules flow
freely keeping the material soft and flexible, but
on impact they lock together to absorb and
dissipate energy. The Buckingham case has
a standing option for working at a table;
four slots for cards; and two larger slots
for documents. It is available in black,
with orange, blue or grey trim.
Time saving voice recorder
The Olympus DM-720 voice recorder
incorporates a number of time-saving features
for busy professionals. These include a calendar-
based search for quick and easy retrieval of
recordings and a Voice Playback function that
automatically skips non-voice audio during
playback so that you can access relevant
information more quickly. The DM-720 features
4GB of built-in memory and a Micro SD slot
for additional storage capacity. It costs £180.
Improved powerbank
Sandberg has enhanced one of its most popular
Powerbanks, the Solar Powerbank 6000 mAh, with a
larger battery capacity (8000mAh), more attractive
design, multiple outputs, a 400% more powerful
solar panel and a smaller price tag. The new model
also features a powerful built-in LED flashlight and
is IP54-certified against dust and water splashes.
Panoramic security
camera
The UFO PanoramicWi-Fi HD Camera
from smanos utilises surveillance-grade
fisheye lens technology, superior night
vision and accurate motion detection
for effective security monitoring. The
camera can be mounted on any flat
surface, including a ceiling or wall, and
provides three selectable HD views
(360-degree bird’s eye, 180-degree
panoramic and auto-corrected
90-degree quad). Footage can be viewed
on an iPhone or Android smartphone
and stored in the cloud or on-site (via an
optional microSD memory card).
Small office scanning
The duplex SmartOffice PS3060U
small office scanner from Plustek has a
recommended daily processing volume of
4,000 pages and scan speeds of 20 pages per
minute (colour) or 30 ppm (mono) at 200
dpi. A 50-page automatic document feeder
can handle a mixture of A4 paper, plastic,
rigid cards, cheques and rice paper. There is
also a long paper mode for scanning pages
up to 200 inches in length.
