Toshiba TEC provides Writtle College
with a best in class solution
Since it was first established in 1893, Writtle College has been producing experts
in the land-based industries and is now one of the oldest and largest specialist
colleges of its kind, with students from over 50 nations currently studying there..
Having already been introduced to Toshiba TEC UK Imaging Systems, Nigel Kirby, the
College’s information services team co-ordinator ,contacted the company’s head of managed
services, Ben Gaston, with a view to standardising the College’s fleet. Gaston commented.
Our project team carried out various data gathering exercises, which allowed us to accurately
assess usage habits and establish operational costs.’
A total of 36 mono and colour products from Toshiba’s e-STUDIO series are now in
use across the campus. As well as being fast and efficient they combine copy, print, scan
and fax functionality, while also providing users with the option to produce professional
finished documents. In the College’s media resources and reprographics facility a high
specification colour MFP was also required and Toshiba was able to fulfill this need
with an e-STUDIO65030C, providing high speed colour output and
uncompromising quality.
The energy saving qualities of the Toshiba MFPs are helping
the College to meet its environmental objectives and have
successfully led to reduced wastage and total cost per page.

OPEX® Corporation, a recognized global
technology leader in high-speed mailroom
automation, is proud to announce the addition
of the Model 2112™ Envelopener to its
OMATION® line of products and this new
machine is ideal for small to mid-sized mail
opening requirements.
The Model 2112 incorporates the same key features as its
predecessor, the legendary Model 2100, such as superior milling
cutter technology and speeds of up to 400 envelopes per minute.
The proven milling cutter minimizes cut contents, provides a
feathered edge for safe removal, and allows for quick extraction
and processing whilst representing an excellent investment in your
enhanced efficiency and output.
New improvements on the Model 2112 include a self-adjusting
feeder, an “operator adjustable” cut depth lever and a larger chip
capacity tray. The machine can also remove as little as .25mm to
1.79mm chips from the envelope edge.

hosted telephony service is now
available with call recording and
ACD (Automatic Call Distribution)
functionality as additional options.
Ad hoc call recording is at the touch

basic contact centre working so SIP
Communicator™ automatically distributes
calls to nominated agents as they become
available. This is an ideal solution for ‘small
seat’ contact centres.
SIP Communicator requires minimal
capital expenditure because billing is
based on a monthly service charge and
the costs are estimated to be about fifty
per cent less than a conventional phone
system.
