The Olitouch is the latest innovation
in Olivetti’s fast growing product
range, which now includes notebook
computers, netbooks, tablets, displays,
interactive whiteboards, electronic
point of sale systems, printers and
multifunction printers, all sold via a
network of 120 dealers throughout
the UK and Ireland.
In order to help Olivetti dealers
develop specialist knowledge and
customers identify Olivetti resellers with
expertise in specifc areas, for example
classroom equipment or retail solutions,
Olivetti has introduced a new ‘Best For...’
accreditation programme.
Dennis Woods, Managing Director of
Olivetti UK Ltd, said: “It’s a programme
to encourage growth among our dealers,
but it’s also a programme to inspire
confdence in customers, to know that
they are dealing with professionals
with excellent standards, which is what
Olivetti has always upheld itself.”
The frst to be launched is the Best for
Colour programme, which shows that a
reseller has achieved the highest levels of
professionalism in colour MFP sales and
service. This will be followed early next
year by Best for Retail, Best for IT and
Best for Schools schemes.
To qualify as a ‘Best for Colour’
supplier, a dealer must demonstrate a
dedication to Olivetti’s colour range
and submit sales teams and technicians
to an intense and on-going training
and development programme so that
The d-Copia 4500MF (45ppm)
and d-Copia 5500MF (55ppm) are
replacements for the d-Copia 4200MF
and d-Copia 5200MF, while the 35ppm
d-Copia 3500MF is a completely new
addition to the range.
All three have a long-lasting drum rated
for 600,000 pages for reliable, trouble-free
operation and low running costs.
The new MFDs offer black and white
printing/copying and colour scanning,
with support for paper up to A3 in size and
300gsm in weight, as well as banners up to
1.2 metres in length.
They come packed with time-
saving features including a maximum
paper capacity of 7,150 sheets for the
uninterrupted completion of long print
runs; a choice of fnishers, including a
stapler, hole-punch and booklet-maker;
and the option of a seven-tray mail-
stacker for separating departmental jobs.
To support the growing document
management needs and paperless
workfows of modern organisations, the
standard colour scanner can be upgraded
to a super-fast Dual-Scan ADF, which scans
both sides of a page in a single pass at
speeds of up to 160 images per minute.
All three models feature 1GB of RAM
(expandable to 2GB) and a 160GB hard
disk for storing scans, documents and
frequently used forms in public or private
folders. These can be viewed in preview
mode on the 8.5in touchscreen, which also
provides simple, intuitive access to device
functions.

scheme unless they can demonstrate
that their technicians have been fully
trained on the Olivetti range or are
committed to attending training courses
to improve their skill levels.
Furthermore, a dealer’s service
structure must be transparent and clearly
defned so that the end user can see how
the installation, training, maintenance
and evolution of their equipment will be
managed by the dealer.
In return, the dealer can look forward
to exclusive pricing promotions, from
which their customers too will beneft, as
Dennis Woods explains.
