The very nature of the offering
means that dealers have
a more regular interaction
with their customer and for
customers it gives them
more knowledge and so more
control over their print fleet.
Sharp Optimised Services
(SOS) is our best practice
approach to delivering MPS
to the customer and can
be adapted to work for big
organisations as well as with
smaller businesses.
Our extensive range of Multi-
functional Printers (MFPs) all
support our MPS operations and
include SNMP and OSA (Sharp
Open System Architecture)
capabilities, high security and
energy saving features.
The modern MFP provides a
wide range of office functions
including Print, Copy, Scan, Fax
and can be a central part of
document processing within the
customer’s business. With such
a key role to play it becomes
increasingly important for
these machines to be deployed
to their best ability. The
principles of SOS are designed
to allow dealers to identify
and implement the optimum
approach to MPS deployment
From the initial engagement
and discovery of a customer’s
current system and the
appreciation of their aspirations
for their print system through
to the proposal and quotation
Sharp
– Optimising MPS
Sharp Dealers are assisted by
full pre-sales support as well
as software systems to help in
these tasks.
Optimisation of the machines
and their placement is a key
element in developing the
proposal but increasingly today
customers demand enhanced
cost savings, which while
supported by Sharp’s newer
and more efficient machines,
can really be maximised
when combined with a print
accounting software solution.
These solutions can typically
offer users savings of 15%-
40% once pull printing and full
account control is implemented.
Sharp and its dealer network
has a broad range of Print
Accounting and Pull Print
solutions, from Equitrac and
Safecom to PaperCut and
Pcounter as well as Sharp’s own
very economical Job Accounting
and Print Release solutions.
But customer engagement
does not end with these
optimisation and cost saving
applications. Helping the
customer to maintain their
system and keep it optimised
is another ongoing task of
MPS. Again here Sharp offers
applications to make this easy
such as OneStop which helps
with the remote collection of
meter readings and real-time
fault monitoring. On-site the
customer’s IT team can use
Sharp’s free SRDM to monitor
and manage their print fleet.
As a part of regular, typically
quarterly, meetings with the
customer further business
process “pain points” can be
explored and solutions offered
to eliminate these.
Scanning and document
archival for example is an area
where there is often much to
be gained in the modern office
and business. Sharp offer
easy to use and integrated
scanning applications that can
automatically file documents
into a file system based upon
the content of those documents.
Applications such as Drivve
Image and Docuware offer
full functional scanning and
document archival and search/
Managed print services (MPS) offer a real
benefit to both the customer and dealer
retrieval which can save
customers file space. More
importantly they can make
responding to customer queries
much easier and quicker,
improving customer service
levels and saving money or
improving business cash flow.
All this leads to a fuller
relationship with the customer,
the MPS provider becomes a
business partner helping with
many aspects of the customer’s
business and adding value to the
relationship. Sharp Optimised
Services is truly a dual benefit
product, not only offering
benefits for the customer but
also the MPS provider.
